moving and .......streaking?!

As you can see, mom is totally psyched about her knee pads...and dusting her new hardwood floors by hand.....thats my mother folks!!! Believe it or not....this will be a kitchen in a few weeks when the cabinets get in
Jak was happy that his "pider man" aka spider mad bed was at mamaw and papaws new hoooouse

Ashlyn sitting on her my little pony bed taking a break and reading a story before loading her toys onto the truck. I think she has the right idea. Let the men do the work!
Jak was excited to find the grabber thing that mamaw and papaw tried to hide from him....notice the word TRIED
Jak pestering Ashlyn enough to put her book down and take off running away from him
Even Hello Kitty gets a new room!!
Dad putting the couch back together in the new house so we can watch tv and relax for a bit

Today was a great, fun, beautiful family day!!! Jonathan had to work so the kids and I got up early and headed to mcdonalds to get breakfast for mom and dad and head over there to get most of the stuff that was left to move. Desiree and her husband Allen came over and brought my uncle Butch who just had quadruple (I don't think thats spelled right) bypass surgery about a week ago. He couldn't do anything but watch and cheer us on. I think it upset him because he is so used to helping do everything and always doing something. He is healing well and hopefully will be up to par soon.
We got almost everything moved except a few things out of the closets, mainly just clothes, so they are living there. still no kitchen but at least a bathroom and a bedroom. Seth and Hannah came by to play with the kids while Carrie helped us load up the truck. We got to the house and the kids played in the creek and somehow ended up finding a dog to play with. Luckily the dog had a tag so there wasn't the whole "can we keep him issue". good thing!!!

Ok,so to the streaking! I went to the store and got food to cook for everyone and got back to mom and dads house and was standing at the grill when Jak walks out and tells me that he had an accident. I was frustrated until he started to tell me that he had an accident because he was filling up a water jug with water....the sensation then took over i guess (lol). So, hes standing on the deck, I'm standing at the grill trying not to laugh and Jonathan is tellling him to take his clothes off and he will get him a fresh outfit. Jak starts to giggle and takes off running!!! Across the deck, down the stairs, through the side yard and to the front of the house. I am running as fast as I can to try to get ahold him all the while giggling at his little butt cheeks bouncing in the breeze!!!! He got in the truck and I got him out and wrapped my dishtownl around him and carried him back to the house and he took off again!! I just threw my hands up and told Jonathan "Tag you are it!" Needless to say, he ended up putting clothes on after daddy got him. Did I mention that Jak is a fast little runner!!

Very intresting night. Mom and dads neighbors are probably wondering what kind of neighbors are they?! The kids were worn out. They got home, we all got ready for bed and they were out in about 10 minutes! I love spring!

Tomorrow night is the cubbies awards program. I'm so excited that Jak is getting his 1 year award and that Ashlyn will be moving up to Sparks. I can't believe how big they are getting! Time goes by sooooo fast!

Jaks new word, by the way, is "actually" He uses it in almost every sentence. "actually mommy, I not tired, I sleepy" just for example :-)

He also found 2 new worms today...yeah, i'm soooo excited (sarcasm)

Ashlyn is getting closer to Kindergarten. I'm getting more and more nervous but she talks about it at least once or twice a week....before I know it she's going to be in first grade sniff, sniff!

well, jonathan is asleep on the couch and I don't seem to be a bit tired...think I'll sneak away for a trip to meijer. I am looking for ideas for my kitchen :-)

A "new-er me"

So, after reviewing the agenda for our PIP Convention in Ft. Lauderdale I discovered that we are going to be attending a "Beach Party" I reviewed the agenda then I reviewed my wardrobe and body. At first I thought, "I could stand to lose a few pounds".....then I turned around and checked out the rear view and wanted to DIE!!! ok, maybe not die....but defitnally cry. That is what lead to the new....er me. I have since started running, doing work outs with one of those big balls...it's so cute...and PINK! I am determined to get the body back that I had last year. I REFUSE to look bad in my bathing suit! Plus, with Jonathan being a body buillder, I have to look good enough to hang on his arm :-)

On another note, Ashlyn lost another tooth! Funny story about it is that for some reason the tooth fairy came and left her a $1.00 but....didn't take the tooth!! how crazy is that! Needless to say, I thought I heard wings when I was in the shower...it was the fairy getting the tooth that she forgot last night.

Jak is super excited about spring time!! Bon fires, catching bugs, playing outside till dark...all that good jazz! He is obsessed with worms?!?! every night he comes in with a new one...the last one, named Jak Jak, fell out of his hand and landed in a hole in the ground and has moved on to better times than being stuck in the pocket of a 4 year old. LOL

I don't remember if I mentioned in the last blog how much fun our property is!! We had the Kaelin family out a week or so ago, (Tony, Sue and the kidos) and had a blast! We were grilling out and just having fun and then Jonathan built a huge fire for us and the kids roasted marshmellows, played with flashlights and checked out the creek. It was getting late and they all started to get tired so we headed back up. Jak was asleep in my lap by the fire in no time. I think Rhett wore him out. The funniest thing is that Ashlyn wanted to play with the boys. Micah was not impressed! Ashlyn got tired of the boys and they did play barbies for a little bit I think. They are so cute together. I can't wait to do it again sometime. Next time I will have more notice from Jonathan and put a post out and all my "fans" can come too!!

So, theres the last few eventful things in a nutshell. We are working on landscaping for the next week or so....ugh, flowers, grass clippings and pollen are not good for my allergies!

Oh, and Jonathan is looking into buying a lawn care business that he has been working with a friend- complete with landscaping, trimmings, cutting and all that Jazz. If anyone knows or needs someone to take care of the lawn this season or while they are on vacation or their honeymoon ;-) just let me know. He has great prices and does great work.

a few days away

So thursday night I left for Indy for bored (lol) meetings. I left after a CRAZY day at work and got home to Ashlyn freaking out on me about leaving. I kept telling her that it was only till Saturday and I will call as soon as I get there. Finally I had to shut the door and drive away with her in the driveway screaming "don't go mommy"....talk about heart broken. The funny part is that Jak is usually the one saying don't go and the only thing he wanted to do was to beat me with his new sword that he bought with his allowance. ahhhh, such a sweet boy!

I made it to the outlet mall with about an hour to spare and my main goal was to go to the Coach outlet and buy myself a nice purse with a piece of our tax return.....I ended up going to the wrong outlet mall and spending it on the kiddos at the Gap....and me :-) They have the cutest clothes!!! How dare I try to think about buying myself a purse when they had clothes on sale with 40% off!!!! Oh well, I will reward myself another time.

After a long drive and a rough day I made it to the hotel.....about an hour or so before mom and dad.....and noticed that there was a king size bed and a couch....yeah, i got the couch! it was actually a sofa bed but when unfolded it looked more like thick blanket instead of a mattress. I was ticked...i soon got over it after whining a bunch. Oh, and do anyone of you deal with men who snore?!?!?! This is new for me because my husband doesn't...THANK YOU GOD! after finally getting to sleep on the horrific mattress I was woken up by the pigs on the farm next door....oh wait, those weren't pig snorts....IT WAS DAD! If it weren't for my mom being a witness, I would've killed him.....it was torture.....worse than torture!! arg, I can't think about it because it makes me mad!

On to Saturday....we are getting ready to go to lunch when I get a call from a customer saying that their job that was delivered was wrong and they needed them asap....oh, and they are located in Illinois....luckily enough the owner of the PIP in Indy Pendelton Pike was willing to go into work and run the job for me....mom and dad drove it to the customer....when will being an owner really pay off?!?!?

I finally made it back to thunder with a few hours to spare. This was the first year that we took the kids and they loved it! it actually worked out great because we got invited to the Harbours with some of our Indian friends. No worrying about bundling up for us! Ashlyn walked back in after the first firework shot off and watched through the glass doors while Jak was amazed at the colors and shapes. I'll upload pics as soon as I get them out of my camera.

Yesterday was granny's birthday so we went over there for dinner and fun times then Jonathan took the kiddos to cubbies while I stayed at home with an icepack suffering from a major headace.

Today Ashlyn and I went on a field trip with her class to see "If you give a pig a party" It was tooooo cute! She loved that mommy went with her to the play and then we had Ashlyn and mommy day complete with going to old mcdonalds, mommy's work, the accountants, then back home. She is way too easy to please sometime. We had a great time!

Well, thats about it in a nutshell, how many of you have given up on me and are just now realizing that I have gotten back in the blogger mode?!?! :-)

blessings!!

Being a mommy

is scary sometimes. You always want to protect your children and keep them from harms way. You feed them right, teach them respect, not to talk to strangers, listen to what they are told and even go as far as touching the chest of your infant to make sure they are breathing correctly....it's natures way of saying that we care about the overall well being of our children and it is our natural instinct.

Natural instinct is a strong thing for me. I've always had it in a sense of I know when people that are a part of me are either in some sort of danger or I just need to double check on them. I'm by no means a mind reader or psyic or whatever just very into my instincts.

With that I have always been a very vivid dreamer and don't necessarily read a lot into dreams but some of them totally freak me out. Last night I had the scariest dream. Actually it was a nightmare. I won't go into the details because it makes me cry but the whole thing was that someone came in and murdered Ashlyn and I. I heard something break and hid Alexander in his room and he ended up witnessing the whole thing and my dad found us. I have never had a dream to where I could remember the details like this one. The jammers that Jak was wearing, he noise of something breaking, the phone ringing because I didn't show up to work and no one knowing where I was. Second scariest part of it is that Judy, my mother-in-law, was telling me that she had a same dream last night that someone had murdered the kids. I know that dreams are dreams and not reality but how else do you respond to this besides prayer and tears??!? I am hoping to get some sleep tonight but I am unsure that it will happen.

So, I am a little distrought about the whole dream thing and in a bit of a daze sitting on the porch looking at a magazine this evening after the kids and I get home and after a few minutes I realize that I am in total silence. as a mother I have learned that silence is only good if the kids aren't there or if they are sleeping. So, I get up and walk to the back yard and start to yell for the kids....no answer. I go to the edge of the woods and yell more, no answer. I start to panic....I go to the other side of the house to the edge of the woods where the waterfall is and still no answer. I am in panic mode hard core at this point. I run to the house, get the keys to the truck and start to head across the property when I see the dog running at me. Ok, I think to myself, kids are coming up the hill. No kids, no answer when I yell. Finally after a few seconds (that felt like minutes) Jak comes running up the side of the hill telling me that sissy is stuck and needs help. I take off running through the woods and mud in flip flops to find ashlyn holding on to a tree for dear life and crying for help. She is on the opposite side of the waterfall that is a rock wall and filled with debret from the storms and covered in mud. I cross the rocks very carefully to get to her and calm her down and bring her back to safety at the side of the creek where she belongs. My first reaction was to shake her and ask her why she was even near the creek but the only thing I could do was cry and hug her and thank god that he watched over her. On the way up the hill she explains to me that she let mercades off her lead and she ran off and Ashlyn was trying to catch up with her so she wouldn't get lost. I calmly got her back to the house, out of the wet clothes and in the shower. After shower time we had a long discussion about water, the creek, how Mercades is replaceable and she isn't because God only made 1 Ashlyn and we can never have another one just like her and I think that it scared her so much that we won't have this type of problem again....at least for a LONG time!

I think if I were a cat with 9 lives I would have lost 8 the moment I saw her on the other side of the waterfall. My heart at that moment just dropped to my feet and everything around me went blank. The only thing I could think as I was crossing was "please Lord, don't let her fall, please lord, don't let me fall". Thankgoodness he was there watching here.

So, listen to the little voices that tell you something is wrong, don't read too far into your scary dreams and kiss your loved ones before they lay their head down, and don't forget to say your prayers for God to protect you and thank him for the blessings and watching over you each day.

ahhh, Spring is in the air!

I just love spring!! Warm weather, pedicures and open toe shoes, dresses with no pantyhose, flowers in bloom...and sneezing!! I hate the allergies that go with spring! I was sooo excited to cut the grass. I know that sounds a little stupid but I love working in the yard and having a freshly cut lawn. Keep in mind that we have a total of 12 acres that we have to cut so that make it sound even more stupid but ohh well. So yesterday afternoon I go to my grandmas and my parents volunteer to take the kids with them and have them help pick up sticks in GG's yard so I go home and cut grass. Not thinking I cut for 3 hours. After getting done I notice that i am having a little trouble breathing...then the sneezing and headace come on after I get home from AWANA. Needless to say, by the morning, I was stuffed up, my throat was sore and scratchy and I had a HORRIBLE headache. I am so blessed to be working for a family business...not many bosses would be understanding when you text the boss and tell them you'll be in when you can because you wanted to cut grass lol.. Thanks mom, boss of the year soooo goes to you!!
I did finally feel better and made it in. My voice got back to normal after about 2ish and I was good to go.

Tomorrow we have a party at Jak's school. It is actually his "ressurection" party. They had it planned it for last Tuesday but the room parents' kids were sick so we had to reschedule. I am so blessed to get to send my children to a school where they celebrate holidays for the real reasons (Christmas and Easter) instead of having a "Spring" or "Winter" party. God is good!

So, not a lot going on. The kids have been battling being sick on and off, finally I think we are off. The snot is running clear and not green so thats a good sign! haha, that sounds so gross!! ahhhh motherhood...It's not nearly as glamourous and imagined eh?!

Mom, dad and I leave for Indy on Thursday night for board group meetings so the kids and Jonathan are going camping in the back yard. If I was a gambling woman I would bet that they end up sleeping inside because sis is like me when it comes to weird animal sounds. Camping to me is sleeping in the back of my truck at a campsite where I can drive to a bathroom lol.

Say a little prayer that we make it there and back safely. I will be coming back mid evening Saturday so that I can join Jonathan and Jak for Thunder. Ashlyn hates fireworks so she has already informed her granny that she will be staying the night at her house. We are going to our Indian friends condo at The Harbours so we are sooo excited...no crowd fighting and not a bunch of craziness. We will see how Jak does..I am having my doubts because he doesn't care for loud noise. Should be quite intresting.

Jonathan will be going to 2 weddings Saturday too so that kinda cracks me up. He's not a wedding type I guess you could say so 2-in-1 could mean I will never be attending a wedding with my husband again.....we shall see how he does :-)

well, DWTS is on, Ashlyn needs a bath, Jonathan is going to dinner with a friend that is in from Texas to visit, Jak is driving me CRAZY to get on the computer and I am wooped!

I do have pictures, I promise I will get them on here asap.

I guess I have to mention that when I have been at work...I've been working, barely enough time to blog stalk....thats unusual for me.....

:0)

Blessings!!
